Support the GCAS on Giving Tuesday
11/29/2019
Each year, Giving Tuesday kicks off the international holiday and end-of-year charitable season on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. In 2019, that Tuesday falls on December 3. On December 3, 2019, Typepad - our website's blogging platform - will announce our nonprofit charitable organization as part of a social media blast associated with Giving Tuesday.
This is the GCAS's first time participating in Giving Tuesday. From 12:01 AM to 11:59 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, everyone is encouraged to donate to the GCAS to support the educational programs, library, and general funding we provide in furtherance of our mission of preservation and protection of our region's historic, cultural, and archaeological resources.
During 2019, our donors have supported our education fund thus allowing us to continue the educational programs we offer to students from elementary through secondary school. Other donors have helped us expand our educational support to the graduate and postgraduate levels with our inaugural 2018/2019 academic year of the GCAS Nancy Coinman Grant Awards. Over 18 more donors have supported our GCAS Library with in-kind donations of quality archaeological and scientific volumes, as well as basic office supplies. We are very grateful for all this support from so many people in our community.
Every contribution to the GCAS benefits local students, graduate scholars aiming for professional archaeological careers, and the general public. We hope to continue this momentum by putting to use every donor's dollar wherever the need is greatest.
