The GCAS needs your help in fulfilling our mission of educational outreach. Please consider the following four opportunities occurring in late September and through October, three of which take place at the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site.

Saturday, September 29, 2018, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Mimbres Valley Harvest Festival at the San Lorenzo School, NM Hwy 35. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to operate GCAS and Mimbres Culture Heritage Site tables. Meet-and-greet the public, pass out informational flyers, and promote sales of T-shirts, plus a selection of used books from the GCAS Library. Contact webmaster for referral to event coordinator. Friday, October 12, 2018: VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED as site interpreters for 70 students from Stout Middle School, visiting the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site on their field trip. No experience necessary; volunteers will be instructed on-site. Contact webmaster for referral to Education Chair Marilyn Markel.
October 20, 2018: National Archaeological Day at the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to assist in demonstrations of atlatl throwing, mano-and-metate use, and much more. No experience necessary; interest in archaic activities and welcoming the general public a plus. Contact webmaster for referral to event coordinator.
